However, Vitamin D deficiency is a serious issue in India due to limited dietary sources and fortified foods. AvitD, a patented product by Idam Ventures Pvt Ltd., is a natural, safe, and purely vegetarian, grain-based source of Vitamin D.

We aspire to help at least 50% of Indians achieve Vitamin D sufficiency by 2030 through collaborations and networking with like-minded institutions.

Our Journey

Discovered Vitamin D deficiency through personal experiences and felt compelled to address it upon realizing its widespread scale and significant impacts.

2016

Product validation, continual testing, and improving efficacy. Followed by a patent application.

2018 - 21

Patent Approval granted for AvitD, a milestone recognizing the uniqueness and innovation behind the product

2021

Received a grant from the Department of Science and Technology DST. Further guidance and incubation support was received from IITB, SINE Society For Innovation Entrepreneurship.

2022

After various iterations, the first prototype of AvitD emerged, incorporating innovative and unique biotechnology principles.

2018

Began exploration and research using biotechnological concepts to understand the issue in depth and find a practical and affordable solution.

2017 - 18

An in-depth investigation in rural areas brought forth the blaring deficiency despite sun exposure in rural areas. Availability of healthy nutritional non vegetarian meals in urban areas also didn’t help with vitamin d sufficiency. The deficiency was consistent across geographies and socioeconomic strata.
